Artist Statement

As an artist, I question stereotypes and approach my work from a feminist perspective. As a descendant of Europeans who lived in a colony, I take an anti-racist position.

I am a multidisciplinary artist with a strong focus on painting. In my figurative work, I use unusual color combinations to emphasize atmosphere and explore the relationships between the depicted figures. I treat titles as a poetic frame for my works, and in exhibitions I often combine painting with other media — including video, sound, and light — to create immersive and interactive installations.
